Musici in sala
This is the Capitular hall inside the convent of Carmelite Friars at the Church of St. Mary of Nazareth (the Church of the Scalzi). The church was designed by Baldassare Longhena, with facade designed by Giuseppe Sardi. Built between 1660 and the early eighteenth century, it was enriched with an image from Lazzaretto Vecchio, at that time also called the island of St. Mary of Nazareth, and with that name consecrated in 1705. In 1649 the Friars Discalced Carmelites built a convent and a small church  so called Mary in Nazareth. Around 1656 the church was demolished in order to raise the current design Longhena. The facade is of  the Sardi, and was built thanks to Jerome Cavazza. Inside is preserved the famous fresco by Tiepolo GB "The transport of the house of Loreto," lost in the bombing Austrian October 27, 1915. "Santa Teresa in glory" is still visible: an important Tiepolo fresco dated 1720-25.
